What’s in my hospital bag?

It feels like forever since I’ve actually sat down and had the energy to write a blog post! Since my 30 week update soooo much has happened and pregnancy decided to get really bloody crap, therefore, blogging took a back seat along with a lot of other things, and resting and allowing my body to do what it needed to do to grow another human became my priority. However, I’m feeling a lot more like myself today so I’ve decided to treat myself to a new laptop and celebrate with a blog post! ❤

I asked on Twitter and Instagram what blog post you would would like to read and on both platforms ‘What’s in my hospital bag’ won! So here goes.

I’m a first time Mum so obvs I’ve never packed a hospital bag for labour before and I also have no idea how long I’ll have to stay in for. I’ve packed mine and baby’s bag based on other peoples suggestions/advice so if you think I’ve missed anything out at all, please do let me know in the comments!

As I said, I’ve never had a baby before and I also don’t know how long I will be in hospital for so I’ve tried to take on everyone’s advice and suggestions and pack what I think we will need!

Any advice would be very much appreciated so please feel free to comment and let me know if you think I’ve packed anything I won’t need, or I’m missing anything that I will need!

Thanks for reading,

Love, Beth xxx

Hi! I just had a baba 3 weeks ago and I got told a few bits and bobs that might help!

Perineal cold pack (amazon) and spritz for bitz I’ve is a life saver for women after !
Perineal oil can be used from 34 weeks to reduce tears- bought from expert midwife
Also badedas bath stuff helps with healing after !

Also Peppermint tea for C section because anything can happen!

For partner – entertainment and snacks (all of the snacks)

For baba – bring different layers of thickness blankets because the postnatal wards are hottttt
But newborns drop temperature so quickly we ended up wrapping little one in 6 blankets

Also lots of different sized hats!

Next babygrows are lifesavers cause they have built in scratch mitts

    Hope this helps!

Ps. If you don’t take formula starter pack they give you it if you’re struggling anyway
They help you express for the first couple of days if you can’t breast feed and midwives teach you everything! They won’t let you go home till you feel confident in yourself so get all the advice from them if you’re unsure!

Enjoy your little one ! Hope everything goes okay!

I would pack more baby grows for baby.
I packed 3 for ky little one and they all got covered in sick (we were in hospital for about 16 hours), especially when she was taken for her observations a few hours old and vomited all over herself and the doctor 🙈
Also, I found water wipes really stink, especially when cleaning a poo nappy! 🤢
Good luck with giving birth, best feeling in the world xxx

I’ve been told that with it being my first baby that they’ll get me to bath little man while we’re in hospital to check that I know what I’m doing and feel confident doing it for when we’re back at home. So I’ve packed a baby sponge and a towel too, don’t know how true it is, but I’ve packed them just to be on the safe side! I have also bought a “water spray fan” and it’s the best thing ever! I’d definitely recommend looking at them at least! I’m using mine now but it will be in the hospital bag ready for us to go!

I’m so glad you’ve done this blog! I’ll be checking my bag against your list!! X
