I’m FINALLY back with a make-up post! Yaaaaaaaay!
While wandering through Superdrug today I was absolutely over the moon to see that they’d started to stock Too Faced (let’s ignore the fact I practically FELT my purse wince at the thought of another £40 palette robbing my bank account) however, on closer inspection I realised it wasn’t actually Too Faced, but a brand I’d never heard of, I Heart Makeup, clearly duping their products at a FRACTION (and I mean a bloody fraction) of the price.
Now, it is no secret that I am an absolute Sweet Peach Palette enthusiast, I use it almost daily and I’ve never regretted spending the whopping £39 on it, see my numerous posts featuring the product here, here aaaaaaaand here (I wasn’t joking!). But I was waaaay too curious at how similar this much much much more affordable product actually is to my holy grail palette, surely it couldn’t be too good for just £8.99!
Firstly, there is absolutely no denying the similarity of the packaging, they both come in pink tin-style plastic casing and surprisingly feel a very similar weight considering the huge difference in price. Cleverly, I Heart Makeup have blended the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette design and the Sweet Peach Palette design in to one.
Again once opened the similarities of styling and shades hit you instantly including the massive handy mirror, the cheaper palette actually having a larger- and in my opinion better mirror!
The textures of the shadows were so similar I was struggling to keep track of which was which when testing them out, they both have that buttery soft feel and the colour pay off from the two were almost EXACTLY the same! (This is what I normally tends to separate a high street product from a high end product, the pigmentation, but not on this occasion!)
Here are some swatches of both palettes alongside each other (Too Faced- top, I Heart Make Up- bottom)…
<3 Just Peachy vs Soft
<3 Candied Peach vs Peach
<3 Bless Her Heart vs Choc
<3 Puree vs Fine
<3 Summer Yum vs Luscious
<3 Nectar vs Neat
I genuinely do not have one bad thing about to say about this palette and I am SO impressed at how well this high street brand have duped such an iconic palette. I can’t wait to make another trip to pick up their Chocolate Bar dupe!
