So, for those of you who follow me on Twitter, you may have voted in the poll I ran asking if you would like a blog post on my glittery eye make up look! I was sooo shocked at how many lovely people said yes, but I’m also so sorry that it’s took me so long to put up! (Blame 100 uni deadlines and about 35 breakdowns!) But finally after a lonnggggg 10 days without blogging I’m back with a gorgeous glittery look perfect for your Christmas night out! <3
Obviously, you’re going to need some glitter! I got a little pot of loose glitter from amazon for £2.99 with the fix gel included and it is perfect for this look!
All I will say though is if you don’t already… (which you totally should because its the best makeup hack ever especially if you do winged liner) do your eye makeup first as you’re gonna have a wholeee lotta fallout!
Before you go wild with the glitter though, I used my Naked 1 Palette and with a fluffy brush applied Darkhorse to my crease as a transition colour. It doesn’t need to be too perfect though as you’re then going to be applying your glitter to to your lid!
I find the glitter sticks better if you use small amounts of fix gel at once, and rather than trying to sweep the glitter on, pack it on. Leave your outer corner glitter free though!
When you’re satisfied that you’re all glittered up its then time to add the smokey effect. With a much more dense brush now I applied Creep into the outer corner, not blending but instead just packing on the colour.
Don’t worry if this wipes away some of your glitter, just re-apply the glitter once you’ve applied your darker shade and then blend the darker shade towards the centre of your lid!
I think this look works best with winged liquid liner, especially if you’re off on a fancy night out! It can be quite hard to apply your liner over the glitter so you may need to go over it a couple times to make it nice and prominent.
To finish up, once I’ve applied my foundation and the rest of my make up I like to add some glitter to my tear duct and run Darkhorse under my lash-line to tie up the smokey effect! You can then go back in with a mixture of Darkhorse and Creep in to the crease until its as dark as you would like it!
And there you have it, you’re all set to head out on the town this Christmas!
I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments if you’ve tried a glitter eye look!
