All of this make up talk is all very good and exciting but how our skin looks when we take it off is just as important…
Now, don’t get me wrong, not for a second am I claiming to be some kind of skincare expert and there are definitely days where I crawl into bed half asleep with a make up wipe and half-heartedly wipe the make up off my face before falling asleep with mascara smudged under my eyes and patches of foundation left on my face.
HOWEVER, I do try my best to have more days where I actually properly remove my make up as oppose to the lazy makeup wipe nights.
For me, I’ve been kind of lucky-ish when it comes to my skin, and despite the fact I tend to wear a full face of make up more or less every day of my life (haven’t yet mastered the natural look) I don’t tend to deal with too many spots.
I can go weeks without a single spot, but then when I do get one it’s either so huge it takes over my whole face and refuses to be covered by any kind of make up, or I’ll have a sudden random outburst of ten spots setting up camp on my face (this tends to happen at specific times of the month…if you know what I mean).
I know there are hundreds and hundreds of different skincare brands out there that promise all kinds of things and will leave you with a huge hole in your pocket but I’ve found what I think is a great little skincare routine for much more than half the price than your average high end skincare range 🙂
The products I use are:
Clean n Clear Blackhead Daily Scrub – You can bag this for £2.65 from Tesco (TIP: Leave this in the shower it makes it much easier and faster and requires a lot less effort!) I use this product once or twice a week!
GARNIER Micellar cleansing water – The larger, 400ml bottle is currently on offer in Superdrug down from £4.99 to £3.29! Getting the smaller one may feel like you’re saving money but the longer one seems to last months as oppose to the smaller one lasting me a couple of weeks! I use this to remove my make up by simply applying it to a cotton pad (the bigger oval ones works better than the mini ones as you can apply a more generous amount of product and they’re less likely to fall apart while you’re cleansing!)
SIMPLE kind to skin eye make up remover – For just £1.49 you can get this from Superdrug, I’ve tried a few different eye make up removers and this one is by far my fave, it doesn’t irritate my eyes one bit and it removes even my Lancome waterproof mascara, which, if anyone has this will know is a bloody nightmare to get off!
SIMPLE kind to skin moisturiser – After cleansing I always apply this moisturiser, also available at Superdrug (my favourite shop if you can’t already tell) for £1.49. Also if you’ve read my Primed to Perfection post you will know this is my all time favourite moisturiser and I even use it as a primer!
SIMPLE kind to skin wipes – And finally… for those lazy nights, some make up wipes. These SIMPLE wipes are £1.59 and they’re the ones I tend to go for!
You can probably tell by now that the SIMPLE Kind to Skin range is my favourite, it’s so affordable and I think that the quality of the products and what they do are amazing for what you pay!
Let me know in the comments your skincare routine or if you’ve tried the kind to skin range 🙂
